Midi Trench - 1960s Scottish Tweed
Cool colors splash across twentieth century weaves from the inside out of this coat, combining a blue Scottish tweed with an abstract twirling printed silky lining. The trench is double-breasted with a large lapel and adjustable wrapped-cuff detail. The tie belt gives a cinched-in appearance, front or back. Italian mother of pearl buttons add a smart and subtle finish. Made to comfortably stand out and be worn with anything from jeans to dresses.
Fabric
1960s Scottish tweed. This fabric was produced by the Scottish mill Heather Mills, which was located in Selkirk and made exclusively tweeds. The mill was founded in 1864 as Cheviot Mill. Heather Mills’ records are preserved in the National Register of Archives for Scotland.
1960s American rayon lining. The print is an abstract watercolor.
Buttons
1960s Italian carved mother of pearl buttons.
